The Search Pie Chart

Ever wondered about the extent of Google’s dominance in search? Well, wonder no more. Below is a pie chart showing the percentage distribution of the most frequently used search engines. Google’s share is more than twice that of the its second place competitor, Yahoo. In fact, the level of dominance is such that Google “attracts both the wealthiest (70 percent of people with incomes greater than $100,000) and the youngest searchers (67 percent of people between 18 and 41).” TechCrunch features this result and another survey which studied what it took for people to switch their search engine preference. The top response was “Better search results,” which was supported by 45 percent of all respondents s and 48 percent of respondents who use Google as their main engine.
